Our trainers have worked as commercial lawyers in the UK and internationally , their experience ensuring that our courses reflect practical business and legal requirements. We adopt a plain language approach but promote realistic and workable guidelines for commercial practitioners.

We choose trainers who have all of the following:

• relevant professional qualifications or a business background

• years of experience in professional practice or in their business field

• expertise in their area of training and relevant teaching qualifications

We are a company run by legal professionals who are also linguists. It is our view that English lawyers are continuing to neglect style and linguistic aspects when drafting. Traditionally and poorly drafted precedents are still used, and the transition to more modern writing is slow, particularly when the contract is between business parties. Like other British English speakers, we are not used to analysing our English: when we learn a foreign language at school we learn the grammar; when we learn English we learn little or no grammar.

Our trainers have legal professional qualifications and experience but also expertise in legal English language and skills training.

You talk to our management who are not only linguists but experienced professionals from industry and professional practice.

We are not an impersonal training organisation or language school. We are an independent company. We adopt a personal approach and take our time with each of our clients.

We can tailor our public courses to delegates' needs, so long as we are aware reasonably in advance of special requirements and that these fit in with other delegates' preferences. You may prefer a course run in-house for your team and tailored to your needs. You should talk to our management so we can discuss the best way for us to help you.

Our courses are both skills and language based. We use agreements and other documents,  and we include many practical exercises, case studies and role-play.

To ensure that you get the maximum benefit when you attend our public courses, we keep group sizes small . In-house group numbers should also be kept small. We also provide training to individuals.
