Course length

Four days, but can be shortened to three or extended to five for in-house groups.

A day consists of six full hours, a one-hour lunch break and two 15-minute refreshment breaks.

What does the course cover?

Legal English terminology

• general terms relating to immovable and movable property, and to rights and exceptions; comparisons between English law and the participants’ law or laws
• ownership and title; comparisons
• leases
• construction: including FIDIC
• contracts for sale and purchase of land
• property warranties in M & A agreements

Skills with role play:

• Listening and reading, discussing articles
• Advising
• Negotiating
• Drafting contract terms (introduction, with a focus on clear writing)
• Writing legal letters (and possibly due diligence reports), with a focus on clear writing
